A message from Shore.Net founder and president, Lowell Gray
Greetings from the new Shore.Net!
On March 2, 2009, we re-established Shore.Net when Pea Island Computing Corp., Lynn, Massachusetts, purchased the assets of Primus Managed Hosting, (the former Shore.Net) from Primus Telecommunications, Inc. of McLean, Virginia.
I am very happy to again lead Shore.Net, one of the original pioneers in providing public Internet services in New England. It has been many years since the early days of the Internet, but our vision for delivering on its promise remains clear.
Today, many of the services that used to be costly and technically complex are inexpensive and simpler to use. High-speed 24/7 Internet access, email and web hosting are ubiquitous.
We now face new challenges to continue developing the future of the Internet. Our goal at the new Shore.Net is to deliver the next generation of information technology products and services, setting the standard for quality just like we did in the early days.
Our immediate plans are to build new scalable, energy-efficient infrastructure for hosting software applications in the "cloud". We also have projects underway to upgrade and improve all the existing services we continue to provide to our current customers. In the first 60 days of operation, we have already renewed, replaced and upgraded our underlying power, cooling and network facilities and installed new servers for product development.
Today, we are pleased to launch the new Shore.Net web site. Thanks to its Web 2.0 features, we will be able to communicate more effectively with the Shore.Net community. This is just the beginning; we look forward to building many new solutions to meet the needs of our users and the growing marketplace.
I am deeply grateful for the confidence you have placed in Shore.Net for your Internet services. All of us here at the new Shore.Net are committed to providing you with the highest quality and best value in the industry.
Sincerely yours,
Lowell Gray
