History and Philosophy

Shore.Net is one of New England's oldest Internet providers, in business since 1993. We have always been a leader in providing superior and proven technology to our customers, with the purpose of delivering the industry’s best service through our network and staff. We were the first Internet provider in New England to offer web hosting services (1994) and the first in Massachusetts to offer DSL (1997). Our colocation offerings date back to 1995.

We have a strong commitment to providing friendly and knowledgeable customer support as well as providing the highest standard in service to our customers. To that end, we do not provide web design, networking, system integration or training services. We do not censor our customers' content, as long as they conform to all applicable state and federal laws.

Mailing Lists Policy

The list must have been developed by you through the use of web-based sign-ups, email sign-ups, trade show bingo cards, or any other personal contact or request. It can not be obtained by purchasing a bulk list from a third party developer. In other words, the addresses on your list MUST be from people who have opted-in for your mailings.

We also require prompt and courteous removal of anyone who wishes to be removed from your list for whatever reason.

We prefer that you have an opt-out link prominently displayed on your website. We also prefer that you include the opt-out web address and email removal instructions at the beginning of each email announcement.

Violation of the items mentioned above may result in cancellation of your accounts without warning. Shore.Net does not in any way wish to interfere with the conduct of Internet business when the operator of that business is making a "good faith" effort to comply with responsible Internet practices. However, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who, in our judgment, does not comply with responsible Internet practices.
