Lynn, Mass. -- Shore.Net, one of New England’s first regional Internet Service Providers, today announced completion of the rebuild of its Internet Data Center in Lynn. The new infrastructure features dual 1000Mbps transit connections, directly to two of the top backbone providers world-wide (Level 3 and Savvis), providing exceptionally high performance and reliaibility to our customers. Other improvements include new fiber-optic networking and upgraded power and cooling throughout the 3-zone 5,000 square foot in-service facility. "This marks the culmination of almost 2 years work, renewing and replacing every piece of equipment, some dating back to the late 1990's," said Lowell Gray, CEO.
In addition to improved service delivery, the upgrades have reduced Shore.Net's energy consumption by over 80%, dramatically cutting its carbon footprint and enabling energy-efficient future growth.
